Principal's Message

 

Welcome to our Sacred Heart School website.  On behalf of our Pastor, Fr. Ray Yrlas, staff, and students, I would like to welcome you to our school family. Whether you are looking us over or are presently a member of our school family, we thank you for choosing Sacred Heart. In selecting our school for your child/children, you have demonstrated your commitment to the education of your family and the importance of laying a foundation where students are taught through instruction and experiences that stimulate growth spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. 

Our Catholic identity is important to us, and we welcome children of all faiths to join us as we learn and grow in the light of Christ. Providing a loving atmosphere of respect for and caring about our neighbors, we aim to instill virtues and values that will grow and develop enabling students to meet life’s challenges and the future responsibilities of contributing members of society.

As principal of our school, I look forward to meeting new families who want to learn more about the programs of SHS and take a tour of our facilities. Safely housed in modular buildings since reopening after Hurricane Harvey, we are now working with the architect who is designing our brand new campus which will be built on the grounds of our former school. That means we will be directly across the street from Sacred Heart Catholic Church which places our school on the block bounded by the streets of North, Pearl, Cornwall and North Church. It is an exciting time for us and we look forward to inviting more friends to join us.
