Fat Tuesday Finds SHS 5th Graders Feting Volunteers

This past Fat Tuesday was celebrated by the SHS 5th grade students by honoring their amazing supporters at the local resale shop in Rockport. The Castaways Catholic Volunteers from Sacred Heart Parish lovingly called the Gregory Personnel are and have been dedicated supporters of the school for over 30 years and took their name from the priest who got them started, the late Reverend Fr. Gregory Deane.

These dedicated, loyal supporters give of themselves by working to sort, price, shelve, and sell the donations that are given to the Catholics at the shop. Most of these wonderful people say it is a labor of love, and so the children of the school were brought to the shop to bring them a bit of appreciation and fun! The students were decked out for Mardi Gras and entered singing "When the Saints Go Marching In". After treating the group with some breakfast and goodies, they sang their School Blessing over the group before heading back to school.
