Principal's Message
On behalf of our Pastor, Fr. Ray Yrlas, staff, and students, I would like to welcome you to our school family. Whether you are returning to our school community or joining us for the first time, I am delighted to welcome you to Sacred Heart School. It is truly an honor and a blessing to serve as your principal, and I look forward to partnering with each of you as we nurture the hearts, spirts, and minds of our students.
At Sacred Heart School, we believe every child is uniquely created by God and called to grow in faith, knowledge, character, and service. As a Catholic school, Christ is at the center of all we do. We joyfully welcome families of all faith traditions to join us in cultivating a school-family where love, respect, compassion, and excellence guide or daily work. Academic achievement is a focus, yet our commitment extends beyond: we strive to develop the whole child by fostering spiritual growth, support students' social-emotional well-being, and providing a strong academic foundation which prepares students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate leaders. Together, with our dedicated faculty, supportive families, and loving parish community, we are committed to helping our students discover their God-given gifts and apply them in their lives, making a positive difference in this world.
Like many in our community of Rockport, Texas, Sacred Heart School continues to demonstrate resilience and hope. We are safely learning in modular buildings following Hurricane Harvey and eagerly anticipate the opening of our new campus. However, the strength of our school is found within the walls--in the faith we share, the relationships we build, the dedicated educators who serve our students, and the joyful and rich learning which takes place each day. We remain grateful for the vibrant, nurturing community that makes Sacred Heart School such a special place to learn and grow--in all areas.
