Our Technology Program

Pre-K, Ages 3-4

In the Computer Lab: 

  • Learn computer lab rules and proper classroom conduct
  • Introduce computer basics: terminology, usage of keyboard and mouse
  • Learn to use the touch screen to start, use, and exit online Pre-K level educational software programs, such as  GCompris and PBSKIDS
 
 

In the Classroom:

  • Introduce iPads to access age-appropriate online learning games and activities.
  • Expand computer-related vocabulary

 

Kindergarten, Age 5

In the Computer Lab:

  • Begin to learn about different types of computer hardware and how it is used
  • Expand use of appropriate online learning applications to increase math, reading, and language arts skills

 

In the Classroom:

  • Expand the use of iPads to access online learning applications.


 

1st Grade


In the Computer Lab:

  • Expand knowledge of computer vocabulary
  • Use available hardware effectively
  • Expand use of online learning applications
  • Introduce online IXL Math to enhance math skills

 

In the Classroom:

  • Utilize online learning applications using whiteboard instruction and iPads
  • Learn to access and complete Accelerated Reader testing
 
 
 

2nd Grade


In the Computer Lab:

  • Initiate type-by-touch keyboarding program
  • Introduce *MS PowerPoint and create simple slide projects using text and pictures
  • Expand knowledge and use of word processor, *MS Word 
  • Expand knowledge of technology vocabulary
  • Learn how to download and utilize images and text from the internet
  • Review internet safe use practices
  • Use online programs IXL, Starfall, ABCya, and ABC Mouse increase knowledge of math, reading, and language arts skills

 

In the Classroom:

  • Use iPads to collect information for teacher-assigned projects
  • Introduce use of Chromebooks for gathering online information and  accessing teacher-created instructions and assignments
  •  Utilize Accelerated Reader testing


 

 

3rd Grade


In the Computer Lab:

  • Develop knowledge and use of *MS Word and *MS PowerPoint
  • Develop type-by-touch keyboarding skills 
  • Expand knowledge of technology vocabulary
  • Advance online information gathering skills
  • Continue use of IXL Math, Social Studies, Science, and Language Arts skills

 

In the Classroom:

  • Introduce Robotics using iPads to program and operate Wonder Workshop Dash and Dot robots
  • Advance online information gathering skills 
  • Use Chromebooks and the Google Classroom application to access and complete posted teacher assignments
  • Introduce 3D printing using Monoprice MP Select printer hardware
  • Introduce 3D printer project creation using Tinkercad software
  • Expand knowledge of robotics and 3D printing vocabulary


 

 

4th Grade


In the Computer Lab:

  • Develop knowledge and use of *MS Word and *MS PowerPoint
  • Develop type-by-touch keyboarding skills 
  • Expand knowledge of technology vocabulary
  • Advance online information gathering skills
  • Continue use of IXL Math, Social Studies,Science, and Language Arts skills

  • Introduce use of MS Excel to create lists and graphs
  • Review internet safe practices

 

In the Classroom:
